כשנשאלו לשיקולים שנעשו בבחירת המועמדים ציינה מערכת Harvard Business Review את הסיבות לבחירתו אל הואנג במקום הראשון כשביניהם מפורטים הביצועים הפיננסים של Nvidia (שהוקמה על ידי הואנג בגיל 30 בשנת 1993) ואף תשומת לב הניכרת לעין שמעניקה החברה לאחריות סביבתית וחברתית.
